International name for Greenmeadow Springs
International secure identity specialist HID Global has taken 7,552 sq ft at Macob’s Greenmeadow Springs office scheme on the outskirts of Cardiff.
Headquartered in Irvine, California, HID Global is a worldwide leader for the delivery of secure identity.
The Cardiff office at Greenmeadow Springs is the new home of the European Design Centre of HID Global, which is one of two offices in the UK. The 23 strong Cardiff based team, which specialises in the design of Smart Card reader technology, is led by Dr Selvaratnam
Since graduating with a degree and doctorate from University College Cardiff, Dr Selvaratnam has been involved in the design and development of secure identity technology in Cardiff for the last 25 years, and is now senior vice president and chief technology officer of HID Global.
Dr Selvaratnam said, “The team here in Cardiff has developed and grown in recent times. We needed to find new office space in the area that would be more conducive to the HID Global business and the work that we do.”
“We chose the Greenmeadow Springs site because it offers spacious and modern facilities that suit our requirements, and because it provides us with a very convenient, accessible and pleasant location.”
Wayne Rees, director at Macob, said: “Greenmeadow Springs is attracting strong interest from occupiers both locally and nationally and we are delighted that HID Global has decided to make Greenmeadow Springs their new home.”
Alex Easton of DTZ, the joint agents for the development with Emanuel Jones, said: “Over the past few months, lettings and sales to the likes of Fforwm, NG Bailey and most recently HID Global has cemented Greenmeadow Spring’s emergence as one of Cardiff’s premier business parks, and only 3,775 sq ft now remains available from 110,000 sq ft speculatively developed to date.
“Macob build to a very high specification which includes comfort cooling as standard and the offices have been made available on competitive terms. Furthermore, the park’s strategic location adjoining J32 of the M4 and close proximity to the A470 is unrivalled”.
Greenmeadow Springs has established itself as a leading business park development along the south Wales M4 corridor. It is home to over 30 businesses including Barrett Homes, Connaught Plc, Lorne Stewart and Ashtenne.
